At Co-Buyers we are committed to preserving the privacy of all users and visitors of our website and for that reason we comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and are registered with the Information Commissioner (Registration Number Z9590727).

However please note that these terms and conditions may be amended from time to time to reflect changes and additions to this agreement therefore you should check back for the most current version before relying on any of the provisions in these terms and conditions.

The use of this site and it the service(s) offered through www.co-buyers.net are governed by this agreement

Eligibility:
To use the services offered by this site you are at least 18 years of age and possess the legal authority to enter into this agreement and to use this Web site in accordance with all terms and conditions herein. You also agree that the personal information that you provide when you register as a customer is true, accurate, current and complete in all respects. If at any time we have reason to believe that the information supplied is not true, accurate, current and complete then we reserve the right to suspend or cancel your account without notice. Sorry, but that’s how it is.

Information We Collect:
Our primary goal in collecting personal information from you is to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and personalised experience while using our services. This allows us to provide services and features that most likely meet your needs, and to customise our service to make your experience easier and quicker.

To fully use our services, you will need to register using our online registration form, where you may be asked to provide us with your contact information (e.g. name, e-mail address and phone number) and some other information of a potentially sensitive nature, but is optional (e.g. purchase budget, deposit size and ethnic origin). If you choose to supply such information to Co-Buyers voluntarily some of this information will be viewable by any other registered member or visitor to the site and will be processed in accordance with this policy. Your name (excluding your online identity), email address and phone number will however never be made available to either registered members or casual visitors to the site unless supplied by you when contacting other members using the Co-Buyers email service.

Your personal information is stored in our databases, which are located in the UK. Please note that the information you enter may at some time be transferred outside the European economic area for the purposes of processing by Co-Buyers or any of its affiliates. By submitting your information, you consent to this transfer.

Co-Buyers Use of Your Information:
To help us improve, support, administer and develop our business we automatically track certain information about you based upon your behaviour on our site. We use this information to do internal research on our users' demographics, interests, and behaviour to better understand the shared ownership market and serve our users. This information is compiled and analysed on an aggregated basis.

We use 2 types of cookies on certain pages of our site and we may also offer certain features that are only available through the use of a cookie. Cookies can also help us provide information which is targeted to your interests. Cookies are stored on your hard drive, not on our site. Most of our cookies are "session cookies," meaning that they are automatically deleted at the end of a session. The other type of cookie we use is a 'persistent' cookie. This stays on your hard drive and we use this to automatically identify who you are. We use this cookie so that you do not need to log in manually every time you visit the site if you are a registered user. The cookie itself contains no personally identifiable information but it does pass an ID to our server which allows us to tie the cookie to your personal information. We do this to allow us to let you know on the homepage what has changed on the site since your last visit. We also use the cookie to track how often you visit the site so we know who our most loyal users are so we can thank them.

You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, although in that case you will not be able to use certain features on our site. Some of our business partners use cookies on our site. These are used to monitor site performance and to measure site traffic and usage. We have no access to or control over these cookies. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by Co-Buyers only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

In addition using the Site's web server log files, we use IP addresses to analyze trends, track users' movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. This information may include the URL that you just came from (whether this URL is on our site or not), which URL you next go to (whether this URL is on our site or not), what browser and operating system you are using, your IP address etc.

We may (though are not obliged to) send out lists of new members (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) who match your search criteria and /or potential Co-Buyer profile. In addition we may also send out newsletters or invitations to participate in surveys and competitions. Participation in these surveys or competitions is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested will include contact information (as supplied to the site during registration) and supplementary information on your interests, opinions and preferences (e.g. choice of services, working practices, opinions and feedback on the Co-Buyers.net web site). We will use the contact information supplied during registration to notify winners. We will not publish winners' details on the site though on request we will provide details of any winners' name. If the survey or contest has a sponsor then we will share information given by entrants with the sponsor.

You may at any time unsubscribe to any of these services by clicking the opt-out option which will be displayed at the bottom of any of these email communications. Please note that we will not pass on your details to any 3rd party (excluding any other group / company owned and operated by Co-Buyers) unless requested to do so by a court of law. However we do reserve the right to pass on your details to any buyer of our company or its assets if solely used for the purpose of continuing to run the site or deliver the same or similar service(s).

Content Guidelines:
By using this site you agree not to post, transmit or upload to www.co-buyers.net or any of our servers or send to any of our members or visitors any content that allows other users or visitors to contact you directly unless using initially our mail system, please. This includes but is not limited to telephone or fax numbers; email addresses, URL information and personal or business addresses.

In addition you also agree not to post any information or content that could be seen as being obscene, spam, junk mail, indecent, fraudulent, racially or religiously offensive, abusive, harmful, threatening, libellous, defamatory or that advocates or encourages any illegal activity.

With respect to all content posted to the site or our servers, by doing this you grant Co-Buyers royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate or adapt and distribute, perform and display such content (in whole or in part) worldwide and / or to incorporate the said content in any other work of any form now or in the future.

Payment Processing:
We take online payments for our subscription and membership services, the cost of which can be found in our Co-Buyers guide section, and for this we use WorldPay as our external payment provider. In addition to the information outlined above, we require the billing address of the credit card you use so that we can pass this to WorldPay who check the address against the cardholder's details for security purposes. We store these billing details on our servers in case we need to contact you in the future regarding payments. WorldPay requires that you provide your credit card details to process the transaction. This is done on a secure WorldPay server using SSL (secure sockets layer). As you go through the transaction process we let you know when you are about to be transferred to WorldPay's servers for the secure transaction.

These pages have the look and feel of the Co-Buyers site as we use the WorldPay templates to keep as much of the Co-Buyers branding as possible but you are actually on the WorldPay servers and the information you submit goes to WorldPay. After the transaction has been authorized you are returned to the Co-Buyers site. Co-Buyers does not have any access to these credit card details and they are not stored or processed in any way by Co-Buyers. In the case of a suspected fraudulent transaction, card details may be disclosed to Co-Buyers by WorldPay for the sole purpose of performing further checks. Co-Buyers is not permitted to then retain these details. These details are stored securely by WorldPay in order to process future payments you may make, but WorldPay does not use your information for any other purpose.

Modifications or Cancellations of Service(s):
Co-Buyers reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue either temporarily or permanently the service(s) offered (or any part of) with or without notice. By using the service(s) offered by Co-Buyers and since you can join and at any time enjoy the benefits associated using the service(s) offered, should you then not need the service due to any change within your personal circumstances you agree that it would be unfair for Co-Buyers to refund any part of your membership subscription.

Termination and Cancellation:
By using our site and agreeing to the stated terms and conditions of use you therefore give Co-Buyers the right, at our sole discretion, to terminate your account (or part thereof), the use of any service(s) and for us to remove or discard any content we feel inappropriate or that breaches the spirit of these terms and conditions.

Under the UK Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, when applying for full membership you are allowed to postpone activation of your account and use of the Co-Buyers service for seven days as a cooling off period. However, should you choose to subscribe to full membership and enter the site within this seven day period you then forfeit any right to cancel the service under these regulations

Further, the use of any 3rd party of affiliate services, content or software may then subject you the user to additional terms and conditions. You as the user and us as Co-Buyers also then agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts. The use of this website and any service(s) offered by Co-Buyers is unauthorised in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all the provisions of these terms and conditions including without limitation this paragraph.
