Co-Buying Guide

What is Co-Buying?

It’s really not that often a day goes by that there is not one story or other around the ever increasing cost of housing. Be that as a first time buyer looking for a flat in London, as a business traveller looking for a pied-et-terre in Paris or as investor looking for a beach house in Bondi, prices just seem to keep getting higher and higher. If you are lucky and can keep your salary in check with these rises and then if you are lucky enough to find the right house and then get your offer is accepted break out the champagne. But if not the case as is the situation with so many people then co-buying can offer a real solution to overcoming that investment hurdle.

So what is “Co-Buying” or as it is also known “Shared Ownership”? Well simply put it is where you and one or more like minded people (co-buyers) get together and pulling your joint resources e.g. combining your salary’s to increase your mortgage budget and pulling your deposits to increase your spending potential and jointly invest in the purchase. Sounds simple? Well it is, kind of. Of course there are a few things you need to know first and it does take a bit of time but what kind of valued purchase doesn’t? But it is a real answer, one that is increasing in popularity and one that could finally allow you to achieve that dream.

But though we have only been talking about property so far, co-buying can be used really for anything. Maybe you are after a boat, perhaps looking for a land investment opportunity and are looking for a building partner or maybe it’s a horse for the children? Well there are others out there who may well be looking for the same thing, be in the same position and are worth talking to, at the very least for a moan about spiralling prices.

At Co-Buyers we are here to put you in touch with those people and to support you through the process can offer you advice and resources to make the search and purchase process that much easier.

Please feel free to browse through our co-buyers guide using the menu to the left. Though initially this deals with the UK property market this will expand over time. However should you have any questions about co-buying or shared ownership then see our FAQ section and if that doesn’t help please feel free to drop us an email (details on the contact page). We are always happy to help.

Enjoy!
